The model presented on this website for determining the prognosis of patients diagnosed with the Guillain-Barré syndrome is the result of carefully conducted scientific research. The model should be used exclusively by health care professionals and must only be treated as a complementary tool to determine the prognosis and treatment of patients diagnosed with the Guillain-Barré syndrome. These models were based on a derivation and an independent validation cohort of adult Western-European patients with the Guillain-Barré syndrome. At present it is unknown if the models are also valuable for children with Guillain-Barré syndrome or patients from other geographical regions. The model can never replace clinical judgement. Any responsibility for using this model and its results will rest solely by the health care professional using the model.
